For the record: sorting per date is something that can be done client side with zero effort or computational complexity.
They removed because they want you on the "current video" threadmill. You can notice that from their searches, you can search ANYTHING and the results will unavoidably be in the past few months.

That plus the split of the Live, Video and Shorts tab will have a significant impact on the way people consume youtube videos, including vtubers,.
