The Japanese do not fuck with ghosts, anon. They have the legitimately deepseeded belief that ghosts are some actual shit that totally goes down in realass reality, and you shouldn't poke and prod at them. There's a reason why the first thing out of a japanese person's mouth when they get spooked is "gomenasai" - because the japanese will automatically assume they themselves did something wrong that ended up disturbing the spirit and attracting it's ire.
