They got popular by Miko saying Nigger and Coco making a comedy news show that featured drugs and other degeneracy (and Fubuki being Fubuki, but that's not relevant, since she has always been relatively sanitized).
It's one thing to be small and exploading in popularity, it's another to be the top dog. If they kept doing the old routine Youtube would have purged them.
As is evident a lot of people are happy hanging about even without the shock comedy.
