It's precisely because they're getting bought up that nvidia gets away with charging up to 30k USD for a single pro level GPU. Imagegen AI that caps out at like 1024x1024 on current consumer hardware (without workarounds that are slow and harmful to quality and just annoying to deal with) is one thing, but text and something like HD video workloads require way more VRAM/compute that, best case scenario, forces you to get a 3/4090 at minimum. That's just on current shitty publicly available models, too, god knows what that OpenAI shit in the tweet needed.
