to some extent yes, the thing that you need to do is "remind' people that this is temporary on Twitter and the like, in an ideal world you would have a good chunk of your fanbase following you on youtube or in another platform where you can program some videos and keep some new stuff coming without noticing your absence (basically what the music industry does when rappers go to jail).
ultimately just keep small interactions coming if not it will happen something like Koopa instead of a Nina, and you don't want a Koopa when you want to do a Nina.
