>Look at Luxiem. Massive success fujobaiting,
Anon, Luxiem whole success came from a stroke of luck, hitting it off with the chinese adolescent audience.
And as predicted by many, they came and moved to the next hot thing like a seasonal anime. That's not a market in any sustainable way.
>Maybe one day in the future someone will have their shit together and actually cultivate a box for male vtubing, who the fuck knows. But it sure ain't now.
Brave tried and failed (and doubled down and gave this thread ONE VIEW vtubers to mock)
Sony tried and failed and killed PRISM in the process.
Nijisanji failed miserable with NijiID, failed miserably with NijiKR, killed NijiEN in the chase and keeps their main branch alive by throwing an increasingly bigger cast of "fluffers" to keep their 8 males at >>81678752 ahead of a 5k median.

There is no market for male vtubers. There won't be any in the future either. Any half decent male content creator can get infinitely more success as his own self than he would as a vtuber so it's a no brainer.

>that could be considered successful "ligger" tier.
The fact every talk of male vtuber success has to be “relativized” is more evidence in the general point I’m making, which is
>every male vtuber so far, starting from the very top, is a less performing less successful version of their direct counterparts in the non vtuber content creator world
Take Kuzuha and Shaka (for two content creators that do more or less the same thing) and you can go down from that, in every single instance the one behind an anime avatar is taking a 40%, 50%, 80% debuff in every metric even if the content they’re creating is very similar.

The reason for that is simple to explain too: neither heterosexual men nor well adjusted women have any desire to watch a grown man pretending to be an anime catboy, specially when they can get no shortage of content creators putting out the exact same content with or without their faces on screen.
There is no market for male vtubers outside of homosexual men, promiscuous women and male to female transsexuals mostly because the content they want cannot be performed by regular content creators unless they hide their identity behind an avatar.
Other than that, there is no shortage of content creators providing what male vtubers would, but without the “anime avatar” debuff.

And every company making a bet on the opposite direction lost so far, landing square on their faces and, in the cases of the ones with females in their branch, dragging them to the hole as well.

I am being serious and I have zero fucking idea why you are resorting to a cheap (and not factual) deflection.
VSPO new recruits, EVERY SINGLE ONE OF THEM, has baffling low numbers.
More than that, every single Brave Group new recruit is in the same position from their flagship (VSPO) to their absolute runts (YUMENOS).

And yet your statement at >>80699993 is
>they seems to hit it out of the park
What exactly is your reasoning to make that statement. It can't possibly be their numbers, they're all shitters even in relation to mega shitters from the niji side

A-fucking-men, but for the homos instead so they could be "Cover's Yumenos" and die in peace, away from the chance of causing any damage to the main operation

>the EU fans will slowly come over until it becomes a large enough audience comparable to EN.
Or, like with Brave, Nijisanji, Idol and a myriad of other companies who try to “forcefully court a new market”, the audience won’t come because it’s not there and they’ll be left with an underperforming branch / project at their hands needing saving by their main operation.

Unless of course you say they should try and, if it fails, they should unceremoniously axe it. Then I’m in full agreement and waiting eagerly for the disbanding of the holostars

I specifically pick on Yumenos EXACTLY because they’re not a small company.
They’re Brave Group (the third largest vtuber company) version of the Holostars (except they made it a separate branch instead of glueing them on VSPO or V4Mirai)

The problem with that is trying to “break into new demographics” using the support of the old demographics to achieve that.
Wanna know who REALLY is trying to break into new demographics?
>BRAVE GROUP
They don’t pussyfoot around it, they release a completely new branch, standalone, to succeed or fail entirely on their own merits
And if they fail they fail and get axed.

What you’re saying Cover is doing is different: they want to say to the current audience
>help us provide content for someone else
>you support them until they get another audience, they you can leave
To that the only correct answer is
>lol, no. I’ll just continue supporting the girls I like and ignoring whatever you’re pushing to “other audiences”
To this day I don’t even know the voices of ReGloss (or of ANY homo, for that matter). It’s not for me. They don’t need my support. It’s for some other audience.

ERB just joined that group for me.

I would agree with you in a context the “long shot” attempt happened in isolation, far away from their main operation.
Take Brave Group: they fell for the “real male vtubers have never been tried” and debuted Yumenos.
They’re low two views, nearing one view but that’s no biggie, they can just close the branch and pretend it never existed.
It would have been a completely different manner if they, instead, debuted
>VSPO-BOYS!
and tried the hardest to sell them to the existing VSPO audience, and for two reasons
1) it would risk the success of their flagship branch
2) they wouldn’t be able to just get rid of the failure without pissing a segment of the audience that believed their “VSPO ans VSPO-BOYS are the same company, support both!” pitch.

Everything you said would make sense had Cover debuted a “starsmin2000” branch away from Hololive, but not for the Holostars.

Actually, other than the name, on debut, the Holostars were treated as a separate agency and the audience was even told to not to mention them alongside Hololive.
It should have been kept that way
