My impacted wisdom tooth developed pericoronitis and I won’t be able to see my dentist anytime soon. The last time that I had it, on the other side, I was prescribed chlorhexidine mouthwash before the extraction surgery and it really alleviated the symptoms. I would fill it in a plastic tipped syringe and rinse under the flap with it.

Chlorhexidine mouthwash is prescription only but I stumbled upon this chlorhexidine mouthwash(DentalChlor) at this pet store, the active ingredient is just 0.12% w/w chlorhexidine glaucoma te so it should be fine, but it’s also supposed to be for dogs and cats.

Will I run into issue using it on myself? My biggest concern is the quality control, I know nothing about the difference between the standard for animals and the one for humans, and I don’t want to get, for example, some kind of cancer from using it.
