See here, the potion doesn't actually full heal her. This matters a lot in this fight since the boss' attacks bring her down to a pixel of hp so she needs to be at full health to survive the hit. It's the message healing that ended up making the difference here, which allowed her to survive two more hits after this.
Ultimately, it didn't really have a big impact since the boss is really easy anyway and she'd have cleared it in an attempt or two, but the messages definitely did help her.
