People post photos of their homes, their cars, their workplace, their kids, every single day.
Vtubing has a culture of keyfabe that discourages people from ruining the mystique of their persona by posting real life shit, but the people who watch vtubers aren't insane rapist criminals just waiting for a single clue that will set them off on an epic stalking quest that only ends when a State Trooper stops them three counties over wearing their oshi's severed head as a hat.
It's even worse when vtubers get it into their heads that their fans are like that and turn seeing a guy wearing their merchandise into a horror story. Holos and Nijis are particularly terrified of their fans and it's absolutely offputting.

It was a cringe idea in the first place. Unless they need to nip rumours in the bud or tell their fans to stop spamming or harassing another chuuba they shouldn't muddy themselves by engaging in petty drama.

As a former Holofag, Niji is in a pretty good place for people who just want cute girls doing cute things right now. The constant onslaught of collabs has died down, a lot of the more obnoxious characters have been filtered out and are excluded from places they were previously able to force themselves into, and there are plenty of girls you can watch doing their own thing without some lisping faggot providing commentary. I'll admit the Luxiem landing DID force me out for a while, but the dark age is over.
