I've been really enjoying Sonny's 200k celebration! It's a great stream idea - he's replaying some of his favorite stages from each of the games he's streamed. Most of them are games that offer a lot of freedom or are built with replay value and challenges in mind, so the stream still feels fresh and fun while not dragging like a true completionist run would.
What revisiting these games really shows, though, is how far Sonny has come since his first streams. I've been a resident schizo fan from debut, but even I have to admit his early streams were disappointing on the commentary front - they were pretty much just oh nyo cute noise simulators. That's still a portion of his content, but look at him now! He's learned how to string together coherent sentences! He makes jokes, and people even laugh at them! Seriously. His running gag this stream about the text box being backwards and constantly escalating the 'fix' for it to increasingly ridiculous widths had me laughing hard.
I remember being particularly happy after one of his streams a while back - it was somewhere in the vicinity of his second Katana Zero stream, I think, and I was quite impressed by his frankness in admitting his faults and how much he'd improved in the few weeks since his debut. I still feel the same way, two months out. He's been working hard to improve himself and the fruits of that labor have made themselves evident. Sonny's changed a lot. Some of those changes I like, some of them I don't - but either way, I feel like he's found a kind of confidence in himself and his content. And for that, I'm very glad.

Thanks for listening to my TED talk. I'm going to pass out now because I didn't intend to catch this stream live (it's really late for me!), but I couldn't resist the urge to wax nostalgic for a bit. I tried looking at my old posts for some of these games and almost died of cringe.
