The instant response from observers to her trade deal proposal was "Are we just going to ignore that 2434 is acting just like kronies?" which immediately paints her intentions as malicious. She clarified that she only wanted a naval base to protect trade, and instead of taking her at her word and explaining why her fortifications were excessive for that, the assumption was that she was lying, because "that's what kronies said." Anons then began arguing over what they thought she wanted instead of paying attention to what she actually said she wanted, despite the fact she made multiple attempts to clarify. /meat/ kept threatening to leave /risu/ over this hypothetical naval fleet that Alice had already clarified she didn't want as well, making it sound like an attempt to turn /risu/ against /2434/. Even Pomerlane anon, who was trying to defend her, was mostly arguing in favor of things Alice had already said she was willing to compromise on. My friend, I understand that no ill intent was meant but this is autism-fueled well-meaning miscommunication at its finest.
