I'll second the video that >>61520364 mentioned https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HbWKs7KRUkg it's the foundation of mahjong™ and what you'll be aiming for a lot of the time. If you're going to be clicking the chinpo buttons early on you're probably going to to aiming for yakuhai, tanyao, chinitsu/honitsu, or toitoi and probably don't want to click the buttons before you know which one you can reasonably get, like ponning a dragon pair. There are a bunch of different lists of yakus with different formatting that are probably better once you're at least familiar with most of the yaku and just want one to leave up on your other monitor, but this one lists them in order of how common they are.

There's some tutorials on the /mjg/ general on /vg/. Something happened to their repo and it looks like shit now.
You have thirteen tiles and you draw and discard until you have three sets and a pair. You also need a hand with a win condition called a yaku. Here's a list with some of the easiest ones. Just don't click the shiny chinpo buttons and you'll beat most of the chinks.
