Oh man there's a bunch
Demonic lust-corruption is a cheap hentai fetish but I love it all the same and would love to see it used more often
Not enough oral ball play in fics, girls giving love to the nuts is fantastic
I'm in the minority here, but I'm always down to see more of non-humans fucking chuubas or groups of guys fucking chuubas
Overall
More fun casual hentai manga-type fics please

Anon as always Hololive's viewerbase chases after story arcs.
Miko started her current arc with a 31-1 loss streak to Fubuki.
And then she got sent a book about the game from one of her viewers.
Then she got a win off of Sora-chan.
Now she's challenging the CPUs one by one, raising the difficulty every time she wins.
She's still frustratingly bad at it, but that's what builds the story, to see her overcome that and get a win on the highest CPU difficulty.
Pekora's stream is more of a relaxing affair right now, she's just doing her own thing after her year-long bunnification efforts.

At the end of the day I think Myth were the peak of what we could get from the EN talent scene, and after 3 years it's clear that none of them have any sort of "passion" for streaming and just treat this like a job, similar to Luxiem.

It's fine to do this when it's a cog-in-a-machine type jobs like in a factory or in a tech company, but in the entertainment field you cannot afford to not LIKE your job, because the entire point of your job is to make OTHER PEOPLE have fun.
If that act drains you, or if you yourself aren't having any sort of fun doing it, you obviously won't stay long in such a job.
Who would want to?
You're seeing all the people watching you have fun but you're not having any fun, so why stay? Why even stream in the first place?

> every JP stream is somehow part of a 200 IQ scripted story
This is obviously not true, but some JPs seem to have this keen "sense" when it comes to potential kino stuff.
There's of course a lot of time that they just wander around Minecraft not seeing anyone else and it ends like that, but if they even have a small thread or potential of a fun interaction, they always try and get the MAXIMUM amount of entertainment they can out of it.
Heck, even this current arc is a big example -
> Okayu gets addicted to minecraft
> Creates a kensetsu, recruits some people
> Not much comes of it since there's no one playing minecraft to bounce off of
> Summerfes approaching, lots of people will be coming
> idea.jpg
> set up subsidiary company Nekoneko Finyance as a way to rent diamonds to people for horseracing
> big hit, get a few people in debt, kanaken almost dissolves, build a prison camp for further kino
And then this stream was a culmination of all of that.
And heck, even when the stream was going towards a boring and predictable ending, they brought in a few twists to spice it up -
> A lot of Migo's diamonds were given to her by Nenechi (presumably stolen from Doroken)
> Suichan asks for her 8 or so diamonds back, and harasses her away from her box
> meanwhile, FBK "takes" the random box full of diamonds and posts on twitter
> Migo ends stream thinking she's zenloss again, but FBK DMs her
> Diamonds returned, Migo says it's for her debt clearance, FBK asks her to keep it safe until tomorrow when they will reopen for collection (today is a Sunday)
> Okayu, FBK and Mio all log in - Migo feels pressured.
> Okayu announces the robbery of Diamonds. Migo ultra stressed since she currently has Nene's stolen diamonds, but logs out.
^ this little tidbit also sets up the story for a continuation tomorrow, where people would tune in to find out whether the stolen diamonds ever get discovered, whether it'll be Migo or Nene getting punished for it etc. etc.
If it was EN we would have seen a simple return of the diamonds after the prank (or maybe not seen the prank happen at all) and it would just end there.
I hope Advent can learn from this, but obviously it's not very easy to do unless you have a decent understanding of all the other members' characteristics and how they would react to certain events.
And before advent, there weren't even enough EN streams, much less interconnected story arcs, so at the time it was definitely a legit complaint.

So, thanks to the Streaming charts thingey, Michael Cat's recent fanbase civil war, and the general mindset of Hololive fans in Japan, I have come to the conclusion that most Hololive fans watch Hololive because they're entertaining first, and cute girls/GFE second.
> thanks Captain obvious
This might be obvious to thread regulars and /vyt/ oldfags, but it's still something that a large percentage of EOPs currently posting ITT do not understand the implications of. That being the following -
> "Unicorn" fans are not welcome, and in general, do not exist in the VTuber industry

Before you start seething, let me elaborate.
The current taboos among the Hololive fanbase (which can apply to any fanbase really) are -
> 1. Never lie to your fans.
> 2. Listen to your fans if they have genuine concerns and try to address them.
#1 was broken by Towa and Kronii, and their fanbases suffered accordingly. Towa took around a year+ to recover, Kronii's numbers are still fluctuating.
#2 was broken by Matsuri due to her Apex spam, alienating audiences that liked her more variety content such as Karaoke, Minecraft, Zatsudans etc.
She attempted a recovery arc starting in 2021 December and has found moderate success with it.
#2 was also partially broken by Michael Cat. When her non-unicorn fans found out that she was collabing with males - and the outcry that came from her unicorn fans (thanks to Rule #1, since Miguel herself set up the restriction) they thought that Unicorn fans were the reason she couldn't do such collabs and tried to get them kicked out.
They - of course - didn't take into account the fact that Miguel herself is a fucking menhera, and likes to "play" with her audience to get attention from things like this. Similar to how some irl women like it when their boyfriend gets jealous over them interacting with some other male, and try to frequently create such situations to get that feeling.

Segue into Rule #3, the supposed "don't have a boyfriend" rule...
But that's not actually a RULE though.
We have several Holos with confirmed SOs, and they've had no issues getting a fanbase. Some of them are even at the top of their respective branches in terms of viewership.
This "rule" seems to be lifted from the "idol" part (that a lot of holos frequently play around with) and amplified by shitposters, but there's a few differences in being a VTuber fan versus being an idol fan -

1. You cannot be an idol fan without spending money (concerts, meet and greets, merch etc. are almost never free), but you can do so as a VTuber fan.
2. If an idol gets a bf, that breaks Rule #1. "Idols" naturally are expected to not have boyfriends during their careers (or else why would anyone pay for their activities? They all just sing and dance, only top level idols do anything different or creative with their activities). VTubers do not have this restriction, since they are separated from the cultural restrictions of "idols", and hence being a "VTuber" does not automatically mean not having a boyfriend.
3. An after-effect of #2, idol fans have to deal with people online and offline calling them "cucks" if their oshi is revealed to have a boyfriend. VTuber fans can easily deflect this, since the roommate and the VTuber are two separate entities for them. Unless the chuuba themselves references a boyfriend ON STREAM, they are immune to this type of shitposting.

"Male Collabs" are not inherently entertaining, their entertainment values differ vastly depending on the people involved, their chemistry, and whether there's any gimmicks to their streams.
That's why you can often see a WIDE swathe of difference in viewership between such streams - Roberu + Mea, Roberu + Suisei, Roberu + Animare etc. get good numbers since Roberu bounces off of other people REALLY well. Same with the Vesper. Kronii, Magni, Mori group (do they have a name?), since they have good chemistry between each other leading to entertaining streams.
On the opposite end we have Aruran collabs, with Aki, Matsuri etc. getting low-ass numbers because Aruran himself has very little individual entertainment value and adds almost nothing to it when combined with the girls.

The "entertainment value" is what separates whether people watch these streams or not, never the "my oshi is collabing with a male" thing.
Examples from the opposite end of the spectrum : Bae and Kiara. Polar opposites in terms of male collabs and other unicorn "taboos", yet both runts. Because they either have inherent filters, or are not entertaining enough to keep a huge audience.

So, to reiterate -
> "Unicorn" fans are not welcome, and in general, do not exist in the VTuber industry

If you want to disprove this, give me a single fucking example of "male collabs/male interactions" significantly affecting a chuuba's numbers that was NOT them breaking Rule #1 or Rule #2 as well.

Nijisanji needs storylines.
They have gone for SO LONG without having a single fucking compelling company-wide storyline except for Koshien.
Hololive's power is the building of storylines during almost every single one of their phases.
> Rushia arc
> Holocure arc
> Pekora's anniversary collab series leading into her Anniversary live.
> Minecraft summer festival - despite being less of a story behemoth compared to the last one.
> August : Celebration month.
> Rust arc, especially the final battle, raidboss pekora, the twists and turns, Koyo missing the note, Pekora shooting her down - anime level shit.
> Ayame's comeback arc (ongoing).
The arcs are there because they allow the "hololive fan" to have a shared experience with other holo fans.
Everyone saw the Peko Rust finale.
Everyone saw Ayame's comeback.
Everyone saw the Summer fest.
Even if you weren't able to witness every moment, you know it happened, and it will remain a memory for the hololive collective.
StartEND, despite their hilarious loss, DOMINATED the entire narrative surrounding VSaikyou 4 - this was despite Nijisanji having multiple teams.
The only other major story arc that went on was Astel's Mad Maggie run, which was also a genius bit of storytelling that got him a significant incline after that event.
Kuzuha and Ibrahim's team were... just there. They won, but they were a high end team, and won by turtling. Their most popular clips from that tournament were... their interactions with StartEND.
There was no story behind them. No unexpected twists or turns. It was... just a win.

In addition to this, every single month, Hololive feels like they've moving TOWARDS something. HoloCure is coming out in a week, highly anticipated and will have another great arc of holomem reacting to more references, the new stage, and the more hardcore gamers attempting challenges.
HoloEarth is also highly anticipated, despite the doomposting about it. As long as it's a decent enough or even mediocre sandbox game, it will be good enough since that will be used as another platform for the fandom's collective enjoyment.
There's also the HoloAlt project, mangas and other stuff that are INSANELY slow moving, but guaranteed to come out in the next 5 years. There's something for fans to look forward to.

Nijisanji need something like this.
Management is trying with "Lie:Verse" and that Horror game thingey, which is a good start from the company side. But there's been nothing happening from the liver side. NijiMelody is good, but it came out of nowhere and went into nowhere as well, it didn't connect into anything, it didn't feed into the NEXT narrative or step for Nijisanji. Everything they do is split apart across so many different groups which do not have any cohesion between themselves to make a "Nijisanji Story".
Where do they go next? What arc are they bringing next month? None that I can see.
If they get a group of at least 10-12 livers and start building storylines around them EVERY SINGLE MONTH, then maybe there might be some people who get invested in them.
You need the audience to be invested in you for growth, and if you don't have a story behind you, the audience WILL NOT FUCKING CARE.

Almost everyone got to see the haunted house (still ongoing, Anya and Reine are in now).
Kanata and her crew playing the melon smacking game was hilarious.
Kaela's fighting ring were also pretty entertaining.
