joking aside, yeah it's very mass-friendly while also being legitimately well made. that's how the vast majority of popular artists have made a breakthrough. my first immediate example was creedence clearwater, a huge amount of their songs are classics and they all last like 2 or 3 minutes tops, they all have a great chorus and a killer guitar riff/intro (the 70s equivalent of a catchy tiktok dance).

it's also all extremely unreproduceable when you work with a different producer for pretty much every song. only tangentially related but once again the reason i (not trying to start something here by the way) don't like numberfagging by keeping up with metrics and numerical trends ("800k a day she'll reach 10M in 5 days!!" and stuff) is because when the numbers inevitably start to settle down or when the next song comes out and doesn't do as well, people take it as a sign of "falling off" and stop enjoying stuff for what it is. that said, she's clearly fucking floored to see such a great reception both commercially and critically and it's really heartwarming to see (and yeah it feels great seeing her being praised from fucking everywhere, luv u suityan).

Everyone loved her surprise appearance, so she didn't ruin anything. If anything it permanently opened the door to the possibility of it happening for anyone in a future holofes, which is great.

This thread helped me rediscover a passion I had from over 10 years ago that truly made me happy to do. I only started writing again a couple months ago, but after finally posting that first chapter and marching onward, it's been so much fun since.

Thanks a lot to everyone who gave me feedback which has hopefully helped me become a better writer, and also thanks to everyone else who has been writing stories that I enjoy.

I'm gonna give it my all this next year and hope everyone else does too.
