Fans are clearly not friends of the streamer, because the vtuber doesn't know them personally. But these fans do know many things, personality traits, behaviours, of the streamer, and if the fans would befriend the streamer because of this, it would be very understandable.
I like to consider fans as "one-sided" friends of the vtuber, but UNLIKE Fauna, I do think the streamer could befriend their fans easily, (because they probably share similarities or likes in common, etc)

Second, that was not the question. the question clearly was:
Would you befriend a fan of yours? and to that she answered negatively. Confirming the other option, that she sees us as money dispensers and nothing more.

Third, to "work" as a vtuber and get handsomely paid for playing games and singing sometimes is a privilege. one of the biggest luxuries this 21st century could make possible.
Therefore, you, as a vtuber, should ALWAYS be GRATEFUL and HUMBLE. if you aren't grateful about your position, nor you are humble because of your awareness of your luck, then you don't deserve the money.
