Not too bad for an intro. I didn't think you waffled too much at the beginning, as you used it to try and paint the anon's personality and tendencies a little. The prose is easy enough on the eyes and it has a very relaxed tone to it. I will say I'm interested to see where the story goes from here, so do your best and have fun!
Sinder by the way has a very cool model. My heart belongs to another fox, but I still give props when they're due.

Fuck yeah I do. It's the kind of story I wanted to see in the world, so why wouldn't I read it? Sometimes I get an itch to relive a certain scene, or just cruise a few chapters for the ride. I also like to observe my growing points and think about stuff I could do better going forward.

Not for nothing, but I'm not sure I remember much plot / story arch brainstorming from you at the early stages of your stories. If you'd like, you should pick a prompt from the archive that could fit in the type of setting you want to write about and present a collab session of sorts. A lot of us just like to write and talk about these sorts of things at a high level, which might be what you need more of. Being familiar with your own strengths and weakness can also be key in those types of information exchanges. Since if you're aware of them, you can ask a question like "okay, what sorts of details would be good to include in a segment that covers X scenes?"
Also not the second anon you're replying to, but I don't think something like The Star is the type of story you can use to make reentry of sorts and improve upon your skills. You might want to try for something a little more simple plot / subject matter wise.

Shame, many such cases. If he's lurking here I want to let him know something Even though I don't care for wedgies, you shouldn't be discouraged from writing what you want, and if you got the balls to share it, that just makes you a bigger man.

I don't see anything wrong with that. These are just word limit oneshots within the character limit. Make it however you want. Frankly it might even be a breath of fresh air to some readers.

Honestly with everything I've had going on and the timing of the releases I'm behind a couple chapters. If it's wrapped up I can give it a lookie soon. I did take a quick read of the latest chapter since I saw right away that it was an epilogue of sorts.
>Spoiler
I can take a guess at what you think might be jarring, but I can't make a fair assessment of that in case there were interactions and context clues within the past 2 chapters that would have built up to that in a sense. As far as wrap ups go it was pretty short and sweet. The reduction of heads to keep track of kinda lends itself nicely to that end. I'll also say this, since it was your own project that you were deeply passionate about, you shouldn't be so quick to doom and gloom over perceived reads and whatnot. When you put something out there, when you put all you got into it while it makes you happy, people will see it. They may not be loud about it all the time, but they see it. Be proud and happy that you saw the story you wanted to tell to its completion.

Well try to think about it from your own perspective. How would (You) interact with someone you haven't seen in a long time? Whatever your past relationship was can help dictate what might be too much prodding or not. Thinking about it myself, let's say I ran into a girl I chased after a lot in high school, like was super down bad was best friend zoned. I think it'd be fine to go about it like
>So how did college go for you? -> What kinda job did you land? -> Are you liking it?
>Oh hi, how's your sex life?
With the girl in question I'm thinking about, I could definitely get away with that one and probably make her snort laughing. I think you kinda get the gist of it. As for it being someone you haven't written before, let this initial interaction really mold that mindset for you and you can eventually hear the words coming out in her voice. I know you got this.

I think if that's the angle you want, you can possibly spin it where it's less mel convincing her and more of a lesser of all evils ultimatum. It can also be impactful when a villain or anti-hero character fails to convince their opposites to conform their ways, but they go along with it begrudgingly anyway. Civia doesn't have to agree or even like whatever Mel tells her, but if the hagpire presents her case in a way that makes her even entertain the idea of comradery, that can be a win.

The foreshadowing falls flat? Or things that you want to have properly foreshadowed but didn't in the interest of reducing scope creep end up falling flat? Can you possibly give an example of how you locked yourself down a certain path before?

Today was about outlining. I got a few scenes played out so far. I hadn't done an outlining process in a while so it's enjoyable to tackle a new chapter from that angle again. Might start getting some words to paper tomorrow.
