It's odd, as also someone who has dabbled in idol culture, it does feel like it. It's really just a fancy way to put that (the whole idol journey of getting yourself into the big leads with your oshi), you are happy for someone overcoming fears and achieving dreams, and that's something you can be happy about. At the end of the day, yes, this is entertainment, but that doesn't mean you can't be empathetic to what's in front of you. And since VShojo (and some indies) are so damn open with themselves, it's kinda like amazing how much they can get into. The failed Opera Singer, someone's who's behind and troubled by a TTS, people who genuinely had no friends, some that were insecure of their future... seeing them happy makes sense for you to feel happy for them if they share it with you as an audience.

I'm happy that everyone is happier these days, bring me joy to see my favorite type of entertainment being happy.

Ok you did a large game for streamers (see crab game), then who the fuck is going to buy it if they aren't streamers. It's not like general audiences have large groups to play with, hell my bros are just like 4 to 5 dudes (including me), we play shit like Worms and Fortnite.
