Good job on your stream Nerissa keep it up! If you ever have another day off I recommend heading over to Nagasaki for a day trip. They have a tremendous Catholic history.

>History of Catholicism in Japan
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0Kk7rZUr-6s
long story short
>Traditional Catholic priests land in Nagasaki, Japan
>pagans begin to convert
>many converts, huge amount of converts
>Nagasaki becomes known as the Catholic gateway into Asia
>local government begin to worry about how many converts
>they outlaw Catholicism, punishable by death
>Catholic priests are expelled, the Japanese Catholics rightfully do not renounce Our Lord Jesus Christ. Many are martyred, the rest go into hiding.
>They maintain the one true faith Traditional Catholicism for over 200 years (I forget the exact number) without a Church, priests, or the sacraments in the archipelago of Nagasaki. Hidden from the would be murderers if they were discovered
>goverment relaxes rules. Catholicism allowed again.
>Catholic priests return to Nagasaki. Build church after 200+ years
>Local Catholic japanese see church and return on their knees thanking God
>Priest questions what they are doing
>Catholic Japanese begin to pray the Ave Maria in front of a statue of Our Lady the Virgin Mary
>pic related

>Priest realizes that the Japanese had maintained the one true faith for over 200 years completely unbeknownst to the Vatican in Rome.
>God is great.
>The one true faith Traditional Catholicism never died in the hearts of those pious devout Japanese
