Head's up /#/, it looks likely that a mass exodus of KR streamers from Twitch will happen soon. I've been reading through a lot of the KR communities and it seems like with a lot of the recent changes, confidence in Twitch KR has been lost. The current alternatives being looked at right now are Youtube and Afreeca, but it looks like a good number of vtubers will be moving to Youtube, and I think it'll start ramping up by early next year. For now the larger streamers (Isegye, etc.) are looking to stay with Twitch, with mostly mid-tier vtubers making plans right now, so you might see them soon.

Yeah, people don't think about it much but the concept of a "hako-oshi" is very important. Even in indie vtubing people create informal groups. It's just that in corpos, this concept is taken to it's logical extreme: waves, gens, group names, etc. All of that exists to further promote the idea of being a fan of the collective work.

It just happens that the Japanese are especially good at promoting this sort of mindset, even beyond just chuubas. Have you noticed how the recent release of Cyberpunk: Edgerunners got a lot of people to replay Cyberpunk or even change their opinion on it? It's because both Edgerunners and Cyberpunk exist within the same franchise, and Edgerunners by proxy helps Cyberpunk.
