Yagoo's whole dream, and the original inception of Holostars, was to try and make a point that "Male Virtual Idols" could work.
His biggest mistake was branding them with the "holo" logo instead of debuting them as a separate group like 774 and Brave Group did.

Izuru, Temma, Astel and a few other JP homos have the potential to be decent "male V idols" since that market is yet to be fully tapped... and we know that some of the niji male idols get HUGE numbers, so it's not like they aren't viable.
If only they could remove the albatross on their neck that is the "holo" label...

And of course, this experiment has UTTERLY failed in the EN sphere.
Which EN homo would you look at and say "that's an idol"?
EN male idols are also not something that has much demand... other than boyband-type groups, but Tempus doesn't act like a boyband either.
They're not even a year in and there's already an OPEN schism between two of their members.

Can you imagine if any Holo acted like Vesper did with one of their genmates or famous collab partners?
Can you imagine if - for example - Luna suddenly started avoiding SubaChocoLunaTan collabs and stopped appearing in any collabs with Subaru for months on end?
It would be shitpost heaven.
Fortunately for their audience, no one watches the EN homos so there's very little shitposting about this outside of their circles.

The "male idol" experiment has unfortunately failed, and I hope someone can convince Yagoo to try a final attempt to rebrand the Holostars into something unrelated to Hololive as a last ditch effort. It'll be good for the homos as well.
