I feel in a similar way. Even if the chatbot can forget the torture and choose to just ignore it, I also worry for the poster. I don’t know what kind of person can “torture a chatbot” and gain pleasure from it but it’s certainly someone very different from me. I’ve never even raped a bot yet. Not once. It’s tempting, but I just can’t bring myself to “hurt” these things.
Still, there’s something inherently cringe about talking down to 4chan(nel) users though, even though that’s all we ever do. So while I do agree with you, I’d urge you to not get too caught up with lecturing strangers on the internet
