Dunno if I should ask here or /ic/ but I wanted to ask any artists as someone who is getting more into drawing for themselves; do you stick to one line width for the entirety of your line art stage, and what is the best way to "thicken" lines like the type you use to make certain parts of a drawing pop out more without looking sketchy?

Part of what I feel is fucking me up in particular to my own reps is I guess you would call it thickening out the hair where the strands meet like in the red areas I've circled in this doodle I threw together in paint as an example; feel like I'm not adept of making that look natural yet.
