Ok question: let's say I want to commission an artist for a VTuber design, and wish for that design to become my own possession (aka I hold all rights related to it for its use etc.). I think you'd need to sign a contract with that artist, saying that they're going to transfer all rights related to the use of that design to their customer? Do artists that deal with VTuber design / modeling usually have these kind of contracts ready? No way, right? So I have to draft it myself?

The problem with Fortnite, along with Call of Duty and tons of other online multiplayer games is that they rely heavily on Skill Based Match Making. Sometimes it can start as easy as being in a lobby with bots or genuine kids, usually bots in BR games.
So it'll take a while before the game starts putting you in real lobbies, and even then these systems nowadays tend to prioritize similar skill level as opposed to region proximity even if it results in a laggy experience.
