I'll never understand what drives redditors like you to make false claims with such certainty, especially when they are easily disprovable.
/vt/ is at ~90% (was 97% when I checked a few minutes ago) of it's speed, relative to the time of day. I wouldn't say that's a major factor.

What is unusual is how fast /lig/ is. We're currently the second fastest general on the board (see pic related). Moreover, the ONLY thing that decides how long a thread lasts is the frequency with which new threads are created. If everyone on the board just decided to never make a new thread, none of the threads would be archived and we could keep posting in them forever. So the fact that the thread has been around for longer just means that people aren't making new threads like they usually do, not that posting is slow.
