NTA but there's been a rise in the concept of "girlfailure" as a sorta waifu subtype, and some people are into it for various reasons, whether it's the idea of someone who you can care for since they can't care for themselves, or a person who is openly vulnerable which alleviates some performance stress and can let you be more relaxed around them. In cases like these with a poor babysitter, I imagine there's some overlap of parental neglect and human failings which could be appealing since it humbles or "normal person"-ifies the character in question.

That said, I don't get it either, but I have been seeing it crop up a lot lately
