Is there any Holo that seems interested in history? Ina would be the one that many would point to as studious, but really, she doesn't seem to care about the subject. I don't blame her for that, but just an observation.

Glad someone listened to it. Took me about a week to get through it myself, listening to and from work in my car, but was really fascinated by his presentation and wanted to share.

That, and that so many other powers, both local, regional, and global, have planted their flag in that area of the world- their collective society could be argued to be suffering from some sort of cultural schizophrenia. Having a history that's so old consisting of so many different influences, it's hard to cling to one particular piece and claim it as "their" identity when everything they aspire and consume is bits and pieces from overseas. The same might be argued of America, but it unified itself more strongly around it's style of government and avoided some of those problems.
