Otsonny!! Today sonny became more Japanese by learning an infamous speech from an old kabuki play now used for vocal exercises. The first run through just to "sightread" it was... rough, I know he expected this to be difficult but he stumbled through it in a way that almost felt like he couldn't keep up with his own words, it was cute. Even if by the end he sounded like he was slightly regretting scheduling this stream, I'm glad he kept on trucking through it rather than stopping a lot to berate himself (or maybe I'm just projecting because that's what I would have done). Over the next hour and a half he carefully worked his way through each section, which was almost a little bit sleep-inducing because his jp voice is so calming and I can't into nihongo. It was funny how he'd stop and get mad at himself when he was having trouble nailing a phrase, or repeat some of the more repetitive tongue twister parts almost ad nauseam, mugigomimimugigomi awasete mugigomimumugigomi... where was I? Reading the speech from the top again after he finally finished going through it went a lot better! He had a much better grasp of the rhythm and didn't get tripped up as much by those more difficult parts, I'm actually proud of the improvement he made in that little time (which flew by, surprisingly). I'd love to see him keep working on this offstream and show off his mastery in the future. Also the last bit during supachayomi time when he was talking about the different bugs in his room was really cute, I love him so much. You're my favorite VA in en or jp, taichou! Sleep well and see you tomorrow for mario! o7
