its a prompt
but its only inserted into your prompt if the trigger word(s) for that lorebook are in the scan window

you can also chain them up to a point
like say your making a lorebook for the scar sisters, since they probably came out past training date, and you mention scarL within scarH's lorebook, and scarL has her own lorebook, it will also append scarL's lorebook into the prompt, without it actually 'being in the story' if you dont configure the context windows of the lorebook properly
BUT you can disable this recursive scanning

overall you only really *need* lorebooks for
>things that came out past training date
>things that are too vague that the model doesnt 'get' because there wasnt enough training data

you can lean on the garbage the model was trained on for alot of your shit
