I thought long and hard about whether or not to share this. On one hand, I feel like my duty as the person delivering the birthday cards is to act as an envoy of the thread, as an extension of OUR will and OUR desires, not my own, and that withholding these communications from all of you would betray the trust that the thread has put in me. On the other hand, I feel like sharing these communications may betray the trust of Olivia who was likely speaking in confidence when she chose to reach out to the card delivery Discord account, as well as create a self-fulfilling prophecy that you might be able to infer from reading the conversation.

Our conversation started innocuously enough that I didn't think it was worth mentioning: Olivia asked about making a thank you video for the card, I told her that it would be a good idea and agreed to relay the video to the people who made the card, and that's what happened; The video was the important part. But as the conversation went on, it was clear to me that Olivia was seeking a more personal connection. She was putting so much effort into figuring out how to better connect with us, that I actually felt guilty withholding these messages from the thread. It was like I was embezzling money that was meant for a relief fund, except instead of money it's attention and compassion from a chuuba.

It seemed like something she would appreciate, and that's what these cards are about: doing something nice for our chuubas. She obviously wanted a way to connect with the people who made the card, and those messages were intended to serve as a consolation

Multiple reasons. I feel as if I've overstepped my boundaries while operating as a representative of this thread and I wanted to come clean, to lay out my thoughts and feelings clearly and completely. I also feel that what Olivia said in this conversation is something that everyone here needs to read. This doesn't feel like just a normal "thank you". Olivia is trying hard to understand us and extend her hand to us, not as Anonymous, but as individuals, and I think I'm gonna take it. What does that mean? I don't really know, but I do know that whatever it entails won't involve the birthday card delivery accounts. When I created these accounts I intended for them to serve as a bridge between our two worlds: to deliver birthday cards and well wishes from the thread to the chuubas, and to return the chuubas' response to the thread, not for me to soak up attention and appreciation using the hard work of people in this thread. And in the interest of this thread, this community, that's how I want it to stay. The conversation between this account and Olivia is yours just as much as it is mine, so that's why I'm sharing the entire exchange with you all.
