I used anime as an example before: anime characters usually only have one outfit (or one style of outfit) and moments that deviate from that (like a formal outfit or the "beach episode" outfit) will get a lot attention during the reveal.

It works like that on anime as well, take Darkness (Lalatina) on Konosuba. Her outfit reveal was one of the surprises in the show.
