"There comes a point when the growth of civilization becomes... unsustainable. To grow and develop is what civilization is destined for, that much is certain. However that destiny comes with unspoken rules. Not contracts arbitrarily penned and agreed upon, not bills debated and signed into law, nor obligations that stem from either social responsibility or systematic hierarchy. The rules of reality, rules of nature. Cause and effect, entropy, and equilibrium. And civilization must acknowledge and abide by these rules. Deviation comes with consequence, regardless of things like awareness or intent.

My purpose and responsibility is to watch over, and guard civilization. And that responsibility calls for a pruning."
