I was definitely more into making visual assets and brainstorming the mechanics than I was trying to actually code it, and it's been almost a full year since I last touched it, so I certainly wouldn't mind if somebody who actually knows what they're doing ever wanted to pick up the idea.

GML, so it was simple enough that my mushbrain could just about cook up something that functioned at the absolute most basic level before I gave up on it (top was a mock up, bottom is as far as I got with an actual prototype).
