I almost always upscale with one of the latent options, they're faster + use less VRAM + most importantly I just prefer how they look. 0.6 is a bit high, I'm almost always somewhere between 0.53 - 0.57.
By far the most common thing for latent to totally mangle is hands. Sometimes if I get a really good gen with a hopeless hand I will gen the same prompt + seed but with a non-latent upscaler and paste over the hand from that, since it is already in the right place and pose. But it is possible to get passable hands with latent too just way less likely. And I find it gives a lot more detail and texture to other parts of the image like skin, hair, eyes, so worth the tradeoff for me at least.
Picrel is latent at 0.55. Can't gen a new example right now but it's an old one back from the start of the pom pom era. When you're keeping hands out of the image or are willing to fix them in inpaint it's a great option imo
