The text tools in krita are slightly less dogshit now than they used to be a couple months ago but they're still worse than gimp or paid software. It's the main reason why I usually scribble my own text on birthday tiles.

For me the issue is always that I just... don't know what a room looks like. Like, I know there is a wardrobe behind my back right now. I know exactly where it is. I could throw something at it without looking, but I have no idea what colour or shape it is though, what the handles look like, etc. and I spent like half a year mostly locked in this room.
