You're only considering the biggest possible happening as something worthwhile, watch streams, they gave multiple examples already. Do you think they can get decent singing and dance lessons to the kind of music they want to perform and compose back in the Northwest Passage? These things aren't completely universal. If their teachers don't know jackshit about idol music, they won't be learning what they actually want and need to learn.
Just look at the clear divide in Kiara and Rrat's performances to the others during fes, theirs are so much more clearly western-influenced, and that's not what FuwaMoco are going for. I thought they were both great there, by the way, this isn't criticism in any way.
I watch the EN homos, and even they complain about the limitations of not being in Japan. Do you think they have any hope of ever reaching whatever high FuwaMoco will? And some of them still feel limited. Namely the blue, purple and orange ones.
Being in the same city as your idol agency is a very obvious buff that shouldn't need much in the way of explaining.
And then there are things like brand collabs, Hacha-Mecha Miracle was Hololive creating an idol unit to shill Cup Noodles with a single and 3D Performance, would that happen with talents scattered across the world? No. The unit isn't even composed of talents nearly as music-oriented as Mori. Doesn't matter.
And this is a core part of traditional idol work, remember, they're idols, not musicians. They do care deeply about music, but they're openly aware of the fact that, for idols, the music is a bonus.
