!WARNING!
AUTISM WALL
Well, you have to understand that there's the immediate problem of the labor pool they have to hire from. To start they really really really want someone that has an actual understanding or experience with not just streaming, but vtubers and vtubing culture, for a whole host of reasons. This alone DRAMATICALLY reduces the labor pool, and makes it where they can basically only hire through help wanted ads posted on social media. A viable strategy maybe if you have millions of eyes on you like a big corpo does, but small corpos obviously don't.

THEN they need some kind of experience or apparent aptitude for managerial stuff, which anyone who has basically worked anywhere ever knows is usually nonexistent even at the best of times. Most of the workload is easy busywork and the few hard things are learnable, but the workload is so scattered and varied and poorly defined that I can easily see a lot of people feeling overwhelmed for the first while, especially when you have a gaggle of spoiled menhera women, which let's be honest is 98% of vtubers, ready to start rioting if their tummies aren't rubbed enough in time.

So now you're already forced to scrape the bottom of a barrel, and now you have to worry about much more nebulous and harder to control for factors; do they have bad intentions for applying (ie do they want to be a T*mer), and will they get along with the vibe of the girls? The former is going to be a HUGE thing to worry about when you're literally trying to hire from the viewership and an industry filled with homo sexpests, potentially forcing them to only look for women hires, and the latter even more so because, well, spoiled menhera women. Like Fuyo's doomposting about cunny back in december was (likely) because a new manager they hired wasn't a fan of rampant cunnyposting (probably Fiona, fuck you Fiona THERE WAS NOTHING WRONG WITH MY EYETRACKER SUBMISSION), and that kind of very big cultural roadblock acts as another large hiring filter and potential troublemaker.

So all in all small corpos are in between a rock and a hard place when it comes to hiring managers, and they end up having to deal with stuff like T*mer, the anti cunny manager, and whichever retard fucked up Poko's orisong. Plus, let's be honest, they probably aren't getting paid what they're worth either. Not that this excuses all incompetency, mind you, because like holy shit Aviel it's been a fucking year where are my fucking keychains, but otherwise I'm still somewhat sympathetic to the corpos' plight and not too patient with the vtubers who act like unprofessional babies about it, like Coni blaming management for the honk stream. At least when Idol has been making the apparent continued effort of trying to climb out of the management hole, anyway.

the emote off is a bad indicator of thread populations, because /jidf/ was obviously always predominantly boobro territory but yuko was only 5th place total, and the polls were being held when riro was ramping up the RC stuff so there's going to be a strong bias effect present
that said I wish the new gens would debut and get emotes already so I can do the next emote off
