It's early access and one should be aware of that, but in general it's already quite polished and I'd buy it again. There's also a ton of shit to do and it's best enjoyed with others so you can have people constantly work on improving the base and others explore for valuable pickups as well as getting a lay of the land and resources. Most fun if you don't know anything and grit through it.
Your first setup WILL be spaghet, that's normal and fine. The more autism you put into it the better the shitload of stuff you manage at once will be manageable. Slowly failing stuff only comes with liquids, liquids are fucking magic.
Bugs so far are few and far between, vehicles in multiplayer are scuffed and sometimes drop through the floor, singleplayer is nice and stable though.
I have never played factorio, it might be superior. I come from minmaxing Stardew Valley.
If you don't want to spend full price, wait for the next update it usually goes on sale during those to increase playtesting.

I fully trust the devs they'll come up with something. SOMETHING is in the works, it taking comparatively long just means it's being tested, which is a good thing.
I see unlimited trading becoming a thing ironically when we limit it. One measure of limiting it would be to only allow buys when there's someone selling. You'd be WAY more conservative with your trades in that system, we would move on from obvious events making everyone fucking rich.
The Key question being - what could dictate coin availability and price?
For new coins one could imagine a kind of aution every day at adjustment, for instance well-performing coins would buy back some shares for a nice price while poor performers would have to give out discounted coins, devaluing the market value.
The specific algo behind such a system would have many things to learn from previous iterations
- value subs too much and Gura will blast the market
- value daily change too much and hiatuscoins will climb until they break hiatus and then do whatever haachama will do today
- establish too much of a shared number requirement to do anything and stuff like daggercoin will just do fucking nothing, forever, because if gura as much as sneezes she'll set the bar too high
