I’m not said anon and don’t think it’s a flop (or not a flop, for that matters) so this comment is only about shorts numbers.

The ONLY reason to make shorts is to try to get not only one of them to go big on numbers but also to establish a pattern where people will hit sub to get the next one, watch the next one and get it even bigger.
Shorts (like TikTok) are not an interactive medium, people don’t search for them or browse a person shorts tab to watch them, and even if they do the next one to be recommended will rarely be from the creator they just browsed.
Shorts are, BY DESIGN, for mindless consumption, modeled on TikTok and tinder and the recommendations are entirely automatic.
>watch short -> scroll to next -> watch a second -> scroll to next ->watch full short, hit subscribe because it was funny -> scroll to next
Watched a short in its entirety? Likely to get similar recommended.
Skipped midway? Likely won’t get more from that creator in the next carousel
Subscribed? Likely to get more from that creator in the next shorts carousel

Creator took more than a few days to release the next short? Other shorts will take his place in the shorts carousel, creator goes back to square one.
Creator live streamed or uploaded regular videos? Other shorts will take his place, square one.

The whole reason to upload shorts is to get those “mindless” views and to get subscribers and 50k views, 100k views, 500k views are not the type of shorts that are drowning creators in subs.
The virtuous cycle only begins when your short hits 1M+ and the next short hits 1M+ and the next likewise and people start subscribing because they don’t want to miss your next 1M+ short and the shorts carousel gets filled with your shorts because lots of people are watching it its entirety and clicking subscribe.
Laplus clearly is nowhere close to that. In the last 30 days she got 10k subs and 9M VOD views vs. 20k subs and 12M VOD views for Koyori, highlighting that her strat is underperforming even the most basic Holo girl strat

I don’t think Laplus will succeed with her shorts strat. I don’t think she cares either, she disclosed from her (30 min long in a hour slot) debut that she prefers uploading videos to live streaming and she’ll likely live and die by that choice
