to elaborate further, i didn't say NOT to collab! just personally, i found more growth when i cut back on them, and honestly that may just straight up be because of coincidence, and my experience certainly will not be the same as yours so as always, take it with a grain of salt! i actually did a collab recently and it went okay, and that's because i was the only one streaming a pov and it was with a good friend of mine :D so definitely, collabs are okay! but i think personally, it's not a super dependable way to grow :( i'm dog, so you guys can look at my pages and see how much you want to take my advice bc at the end of the day, i'm just an aspie like the rest of us

as a viewer, i personally find that i don't really want to watch collabs unless they provide GFE (group of friends experience hehe)

like, if it really doesn't feel organic, i don't really want to watch it. and this can be difficult to accomplish the feeling of if both (or more if a group) of you guys are streaming trying to babysit your respective chats at the same time; hence why i suggested only streaming one pov at once! so that

1) you don't have to worry so much about push to mute unless you just don't want to bother your collab partner in call (but generally if you guys are friends they might not mind / if they're not streaming, they'll have your stream open reading your chat too) and you guys can both talk to your chat and offer a more interactive experience!

2) the person who you're collabing with is more laid back and maybe not trying to play a character as hard / doesn't have their usual streamer mode on, and so you guys can be more authentically you!

also, this is the only thing i'll tell you guys NOT to do (again, take this with a grain of salt), but please god do not do among us collabs (or at least, don't stream them unless you're playing with a genuine group of friends). among us collabs / adjacent games like crab game usually start by way of: one tuber reaches out to all their mutuals and asks them to play, which leads to a lobby of like, 7 strangers and 3 people you also might be mutuals with, who have never / barely spoken to each other before. just so awkward... speaking from both from my viewerbrain and my tuberbrain

all this being said, of course you can collab, it's a part of not just vtubing culture but streaming culture as a whole and you don't need a justification to stream with your friends! sorry for word vomit again, i know some parts are definitely written really... uhh... silly, and sorry for textwalling the thread again!
