Prior to the 1992 Winston Cup season, Alan Kulwicki had an affair with a Hooters waitress. That waitress is Mumei's mother. Nobody in NASCAR and outside of NASCAR knew of this since Alan was a loner who never spoke much to others since he had secrets to hide (i.e. race set-ups). Alan planned to retire after 1999 so he could settle down with his wife. But that never came to pass when he died on April 1st, 1993 (R.i.p. Alan "Underbird" Kulwicki). So Ms. Kulwicki had to raise little Mumei all by her lonesome. Despite the fact she had no one else to assist her during that point of her life, she managed to stay afloat somehow. When Mumei eventually reached her teens, her mother revealed the truth about the identity of her father. Mumei was heartbroken to know that her father died before she was even born. This sorrow eventually drove Mumei to follow in her father's foosteps. But come the era of Vtubers, Mumei used her skillset for a different application. Thus she became one; an owl chuuba as an homage to the Hooters owl and by extension, her father, the underdog owner-driver who against all odds, bested contract-drivers.
