Huh, that's more of a rabbithole than I expected, seems like a very under-researched topic. There are tons of marine fungi, but it seems like mushrooms with a large macrostructure (stem and cap) aren't much of a thing, they seem to mostly occur as molds growing on algae, seagrass, coral and lichens.
Could be fun if the rootentacles were able to act as anchors in shallow waters, and maybe dig themselves into the soil for extra nutrients
