I'll try not to go too long about this but I need to really fucking let this out. The whole "BL is queer representation and qweer wimminz of colur enjoy qweer content uwu" bullshit is nothing but an excuse to appeal to antis. No one ever has and actually looks at two cute anime boys kissing and thinks "muh representation uwuwwuuwuwu". There is some overlap between queer people liking or feeling connected to some character dynamics and situations in BL, but twitter schizos make it way more deep than it is. I'll take myself as an example; I'm asexual and don't feel attracted to either sex, so I enjoy yaoi because it doesn't involve women and it doesn't involve "me" so it's enjoyable because I feel uncomfortable looking at things that involve "me" (self-insert, anything involving a woman, etc). I can look at this sexy object without wanting it for myself. But I wouldn't go so far as to start parading it around as an accomplisment because I "found my sexuality" or it helped me "come to terms with my queerness". It may be the case for some, but I specifically hate when twittards think authors should win an award for "muh LGBT representation" when 10 times out of 10 it was drawn for nothing more than schlick material. I fucking hate "fujos" that like to immediately attach the term LGBT to anything remotely gay with a burning passion because they're just fucking doing it to impress underage ironic lesbian kpop stans who send death threats to artists just for drawing two anime boys looking at each other. Fucking hell there's even this one artist who is cisgendered and bisexual that likes to CONSTANTLY quote tweet these retarded underage FtM antis with "uHmMMM!!! ACKSHUWALLY how do you know I'm cis????? I'm not straight you know. Many queer and not cishet folx are into BL!!! Take that, you're homophobic now" and I CANNOT fucking stand it. What do you have to prove to these teenagers? Why are you going out of your way to impress these tweens who have no idea how to fucking behave on the internet? You can explain a 63 tweet long thread of resources from therapists, LGBT people, trauma survivors, and other related groups but they're still going to tell you to kill yourself on tweet number 64.
