You can still use streamlink for YT streams so it's basically the same setup as before but now there are technically more options - JDownloader handles YT .ts for example.
Plus YT handles midroll ads less intrusively than Twitch so ideally there shouldn't be any issues there either.
Honestly this is a buff for VOD recording. I'll test it out when she's next doing one
