Preparing for a big storm.

It could be snow or just torrential rain, or wind, or whatever. Go shopping for supplies and food, prep the house, shutter the windows, bring things inside, etc.

You could also go through the storm together, what with the power going out and lighting candles or whatever. Dealing with a lack of water (you DID fill up all the containers you could and turn off the water before the pipes froze right?).

Listen to the sound of the wind rattling things and the rain coming down hard, or look out the window at the peacefully falling snow that’s accumulating at an alarming rate.

Snuggle together under a blanket for warmth and tell stories.

Listen to the radio for emergency broadcasts or the news or just random stuff.

Use a lighter to ignite the gas from your stove so you can cook some hot cocoa or something despite the lack of electricity.
