from experience (i have been drawing for a year and and 8~ months) using refs is the wisest move you could do. not only it helps you visualize the artpiece you are working on, it also allows you to self-evaluate your own anatomy at the moment of correction. course i would suggest you to use irl pictures for anatomy study, but if you like an artist you can always take inspiration on how they shape their things. I'm a bit of an oddball admittedly, i didn't watch a lot of cartoons/anime media when growing up so i didn't base my knowledge on what i've previously seen.

also, in general when constructing the body, it all boils down to circles and squares, draw a cube, or a sphere, toss two lines that go down like a triangle and bam, you got a very basic head. use reference lines too to balance your drawing as well.

Perspective is a bitch to learn, trust me, so i suggest you to study and practice enough to have a solid base to stand on. it all comes with practice.

you just gotta dare yourself to improve, and don't be afraid to fail. we all learn through trial and error, and don't worry about being fast or slow, go at your own speed.

i've attached a drawing i recently made for a character i wanted to turn into a vtuber model in the future, i may not be the best example out there, but hopefully studying it closely can get you motivated.

TLDR: stick to the daily grind and you'll get better each day.

Funnily enough, i've already made something like that. I had been working on the concept/idea for about a year now, but i fear Council may have beaten me to the idea. Basically, the character was meant to be the embodiment of Emptiness and Chaos, guiding another set of charactere into "creating the universe" (think of it as Humanized Concepts)

Her personality was meant to be baddass but dorky when in private/with friends, with a hint of power hunger behind their words. Originally meant to be some kind of plot twist villain at some point, guiding and teaching the heroes how to handle the world in her absence once the inevitable moment of them turning to the other side would come.

Sorry for going full schizo on this, i saw the opportunity and took it.

While we are here, im looking for things to do through the week for practicing purposes, anyone wants something done?
