He isn't right and has no real industry understanding. People make it much harder than it has to be. VTubing isn't that different than any other entertainment industry.

Markets boom and bust.
People who come in at the boom usually lose.
You want to come in at the bust time (right now) and build.
That way when a boom time comes, you have a better chance.
During bust cycles, things fail. That's normal and happens every cycle.

Kawaii Project died because they didn't see it as profitable enough for what they were putting in and likely could not find a buyer. I would have loved to take it over as I want to get involved in the management side of things.

People think VTubing is different than other entertainers. It's not.
What you are doing is the equivalent of moving to LA and pursuing an acting career.
The top 0.0000000000000000001% of actors make enough to live off of it.
If you have any success at all, you still aren't guaranteed any income.

Many streamers are working part or full time jobs. Even the biggest indies. Even Tenma from Phase is working a job.
So although the economy may be billions, most of the billions goes right into the top 100 streamers. There isn't anything that trickles down from that.

Cute debut but I'm already watching limited ENs and barely have time for JPs anymore. Probably not gonna watch again.
