Honestly, if I was explaining Hololive to someone I'd just say,

>"You know streamers? Like, the ones that play videogames and people watch them? Hololive is like that, except they play a character onstream, and instead of showing their faces there's an animated drawing of their character instead. They also do music and concerts, because having animated characters sing and dance is big in Japan".

Like, obviously that's a bit of an oversimplification, but it gets the point across.
