i also will admit that the initial writing of hoshi with just risuners as casulties was kind of unnecessary venting it seems, when in reality it should have had casualties among hoomans and deadbeats just as much, if not more due to their positioning.

and no i do not think that stories can only be interesting if people die. i honestly would have never added anythign about seasickness or the like for the tone of story that seemed to be the overall aim for it all.

i feel like somewhere along the line you and hoshi might have not properly seen the line between RPing your people and what is OOC talkign and maybe this has become a bit more loaded because of that. i do hope that, regardless of the story, this can be brought out of the world.

alright so based on the risuners timelien i tried making sense of all happenings of the Retro Reich so far and this is what i came up with:

XXXX - Retro Reich supports /2434/ in its war efforts against /pcg/, a few months later the Retro Reich withdraws frm /pcg/ due to the hostile reaction towards the Retro Reich's for its involvement in the war.

1110 - Retro Reich begins construction on the battle zeppelin

1111 - Retro Reich establish a deeper trading relationship with the Owl Republic

1112 - Retro Reich establish a deeper trading relationship with /morig/

1124 - Retro Reich with efforts from /meat/ founds the trading alliance together with /risu/ and /inf/

1127 - Bolts migrates into Lamington and begins living in its walls

1128 - /risu/ visits the Retro Reich

1128 - Retro Reich sends a spie to learn about /uuu/ and how to befriend them

for the first part, there is a huge difference between hiding a gun that could go unnoticed all life if they never have to use it. And if they ever are forced in a situation that they have to gem magic then the plot is up and people would know it. its not something they can hide once they use it.

and while the difference might not be as huge as 1920 to 2020, the difference between 1750 and 1850 is still huge. if this was about beign a decade or two ahead of competition i would not even bat an eye but a whole century is not something to just handwave as "Minor"

Yes there has been way too much handwaving in the past in many regards without much care of possible consequences it could have for the future and i am not happy with a lot of these either. and while i am still 100x more happy if this is a use of rule of cool than in cases where it is just straight up used for military stuff that does not mean we should look for possible issues in these past decisions that were maybe a bit too hasty.
i will however admit this could also just be me way overthinking.
I just personally feel a lot of these "drawbacks" people thought of to balance their advancement aren't really that much fo a drawback.

The Issue is you People want to make soemthing that applies as the Norm that is to take place in General so that everyone is on the same Page.

And then you try to apply and make it fit to Panon who is a special Case outside the Norm and that is not happening in General.

Any and all People from those Nations coming in liek for Example the People form /haha/ have the right to say "No Panon, we may not Interfere with the Pomerlane Saga but you do not get to dictate us or have any Input in how our Country shapes its Religion or post Saga Economics, Or which Countries we want to ally or nto ally with."

it makes sense that the whole of /nijien/ once was one big and great empire spearheaded by the lazulight girls but as time moved on and new gods sent oracles to their chosen that the nation fractured into the many nations of today dedicated to their respective gods and /nijien/ who wants to stay in power with a faction that is supportive of all the nijien gods to appeal to the population of these other nations with the lazulight girls obviously having lost a lot of territory over tiem and pomerlane beign someone who wants to bring the pomu part of /lazulight/ back to its former glory
