The important thing is to draw because you want to and improve because you want to. Don't even consider anything like money for a long time because it'll never replace passion. And it'll be hard, your art will be unsatisfactory and it will piss you off, but the only way forward is to draw more.

You have to draw first and foremost because you like drawing. A disappointing result sucks, but as long as you enjoy the process, and keep trying to do better, you'll get better. If the draw's coming out shitty, scrap it. Think about what's wrong with it, then start over. Keep drawing. Always keep drawing.
