Subaru asked Okayu for lessons on how to be mesu(female) in Mario Kart the other day. Here's the take away.

1. Your voice will start to be less cute after 3 hours, so raise your pitch by 1 tone.
2. You’ll stop paying as much attention as time goes on, and the awful parts of you will start to show.
3. Cuteness isn’t made-up, but it needs a strong foundation to excel.
4. Fatigue sets-in after a while, even if you’re having fun playing a game. Your shoulders get stiff, or you have trouble thinking straight, and start to get irritated.
5.It’s important to fire yourself up at these times with a “Yo-sh!”. Remember that everybody’s using their own time to watch you.
6.As you might think, having left-over beef tongue stuck in your throat is not cute. Eat 2 hours before you stream.
Aside: These lessons are to help you enhance your mesu. The lessons themselves do not need to be cute.
7.What to do if somebody in the comments is heckling your gameplay? Focus on playing. Don’t try and act all flirty with them, you’ll just be throwing oil on an open flame. They’ll think “This bitch is trying to act all girly while they’re sucking at the game so much?”
8.This doesn’t apply with Mario Kart; nobody will harass you if you’re in 11th or whatever.
9.If we’re using Mario Kart as an example though, it’s better to get 10th with a straight-face than to play the mesu card while coming in 11th. Mesu lies at the summit of success.
10. You can play up your girly side in the higher positions. The cutoff for being mesu is 4th place(as Subaru comes in 5th). This is known as the “Straight-face Line”.
11. But if you’re going to try and play it up in the lower places, it’s better to try your best from last, and make it to something like 10th. Then, if you see somebody shit-talking you in the comments, you can try and score some brownie points by saying “Well, it’s thanks to everybody here participating that I…”
